Internship Reflection

End of Semester/Internship Reflection

Reflecting on my internship and capstone experience, I gained valuable hands-on experience that helped me better understand how the healthcare field works in a real-world setting. During my internship, I worked in a mostly virtual environment where I supported daily administrative tasks such as managing calendars, organizing emails, preparing documents, and joining meetings. This experience helped me improve my communication skills, stay organized, and learn how to manage my time effectively while handling multiple responsibilities. I also learned the importance of professionalism, especially when working with confidential information and communicating with others in a work setting.

Through my capstone projects, I was able to apply what I learned in my classes to real healthcare situations. For example, I worked with a team to research healthcare organizations, analyze financial information, and come up with ideas for growth and improvement. These projects helped me strengthen my teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. I also gained a better understanding of how healthcare organizations make decisions, manage resources, and plan for the future.

Overall, both my internship and capstone experience helped me grow both personally and professionally. I became more confident in my abilities, improved important workplace skills, and gained a clearer understanding of my career interests. These experiences have prepared me for my future by giving me a strong foundation in healthcare operations, communication, and professional development.
