Work Experience
I worked at Eskenazi Health Hospital while attending Indiana University Indianapolis. Eskenazi is a large public hospital that serves many different types of patients in Indianapolis. Working in this setting allowed me to see how a hospital runs every day and how different healthcare professionals work together.
My role at Eskenazi Health included responsibilities such as: monitoring and recording patient vital signs, reporting any changes to nurses, helping patients with mobility, bathing, and feeding, documenting care in electronic medical records, and assisting nurses with treatments. I worked in a fast-paced environment where safety, accuracy, and communication were very important.
Through this experience, I developed both technical and soft skills. I improved my ability to document information accurately and monitor patient conditions. I also strengthened my communication, teamwork, time management, and ability to stay calm under pressure. This role helped me understand hospital operations and confirmed my interest in working in healthcare leadership rather than clinical care.
