Student Organizations

I am a member of the African Student Association at Indiana University Indianapolis. ASA creates a space for students to celebrate African culture, build community, and promote diversity on campus. Being part of this organization has allowed me to connect with students from different backgrounds and take part in cultural events and discussions.

My responsibilities as a member of ASA included: attending meetings and campus events, contributing ideas during planning discussions, supporting cultural programming, and engaging in conversations that promote inclusion and representation.

Through this experience, I strengthened my collaboration and communication skills. Even though I did not hold a leadership title, contributing ideas helped me become more confident in sharing my perspective within a group. ASA also increased my cultural awareness and reminded me of the importance of representation, especially in professional spaces like healthcare where serving diverse communities matters.
